Fiber-optic cable mounted radiance
collector with sapphire optics
|
|
Radiance collectors are sampling
optics designed to collect ultraviolet, visible, and infrared light in a
small cone. The angular
acceptance cone of the collector depends on the diameter of the fiber
optic cable attached to the sensor and the index of refraction of the
media being measured. HOBI Labs radiance collectors have a 3.2 degree
field of view in air when used with 200-micron fibers.
With a 600-micron fiber, this increases to 9.4 degrees.
The Radiance collector connects to fiber optics with a SMA-905
connector and o-ring seal. Designed
for underwater use with HOBI Labs fiber optic cables, but can be used with
any SMA-905 terminated cable.
Radiance
collector is shown attached to HOBI Labs Fiber Optic Cable.
