Welcome to HOBI Labs. We develop, manufacture and sell scientific instruments for measuring the optical properties of natural waters and spectral solar radiation. The range of optical measurements that can be made by our line of instruments include the backscattering, beam attenuation and absorption coefficients, the volume scattering function, stimulated fluorescence, plane and scalar irradiance and radiance. In addition to our optical instruments, we offer sophisticated multi-instrument integration, control and acquisition systems that include power distribution, data logging and long cable transmission capabilities.
HOBI Labs is also a private marine research laboratory that conducts basic and applied research on a wide range of problems in aquatic optics. To learn more about our research projects, please explore the research section of this site.
